Position available: Agriculture and Environmental Sciences Librarian, Cal Poly (San Luis Obispo)

Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo invites applications for a newly posted tenure track librarian position:
The Robert E. Kennedy Library at Cal Poly seeks an enterprising library professional ready to play a key role in teaching 21st century information skills to students in a selective, multidisciplinary polytechnic environment. Cal Poly enjoys a national reputation as the best largely-undergraduate public university in the West, with highly selective programs and outstanding students.
Serving as the Library's primary liaison to Cal Poly's College of Agriculture, Food, and Environmental Sciences, the Agriculture and Environmental Sciences Librarian will support the work of the College through his/her active work with faculty and students, and their use of web-based and instructional technologies. The Librarian will develop customized information curricula for the College, provide direct instruction and consultative reference services, and help shape the collections that support the work of the College.
The successful candidate will bring a strong background in information resources in agriculture, food, environmental sciences, or related fields, enjoy working closely with faculty and students, and have demonstrated skills in instruction as well as in the use of technology to meet student and faculty information needs.
This full time tenure-track position is available at the Assistant or Senior Assistant Librarian level, with an anticipated hiring range of $52,000-$60,000 plus a generous benefits package. Fellowships in France for Doctoral and Post-Doctoral Pakistani students

The French Embassy in Pakistan aims to help the development of cooperation between French and Pakistani scientific organisations, engaged in R&D programs in all scientific and technology fields.In this framework, the French Embassy in Pakistan launches a new program for research mobility. This fellowship program is intended for highly qualified Pakistani doctoral and postdoctoral students and offers them an excellent opportunity to do research in France.

At the time of submitting application, candidates for Sandwich PhD and Post-Doctoral fellowship must :
- prove their excellent study and research achievements,
- have been registered for PhD in a Pakistani university/ institute or have already a PhD degree
- have an acceptance letter from a French host,
- be at most 35 years for doctoral students or at most 40 for post-doctoral students.
The key dates are the following :
- Deadline for registration : 30th September 2009
- Result announcement : December 2009
- Starting date of the fellowship : March 2010 onwards
